Profile
Anna Adams is a partner at Meredith Connell and leads the medico-legal / public liability team. Her practice involves a broad range of litigation including medico-legal actions, judicial review, complex civil and regulatory matters, inquests and criminal prosecution. Anna’s experience extends to civil, public, commercial and criminal litigation in New Zealand and New York and includes the following:
Acting as counsel in judicial review proceedings on behalf of District Health Boards, the Health and Disability Commissioner and the New Zealand Police.
Acting as counsel in significant and complex civil proceedings.
Acting for and against health professionals in disciplinary and civil proceedings before administrative tribunals.
Regularly advising health clients on difficult and sensitive medico-legal issues.
Managing large-scale litigation in New Zealand and New York, including multi-plaintiff accident compensation claims and class actions.
Acting as counsel to a large Auckland public entity in a consumer protest action involving complex water regulatory issues.
Advising the Police on the conduct of criminal investigations and prosecuting serious criminal cases on behalf of the Crown.
Acting as counsel in complex and high-profile inquests.
Prosecuting regulatory offences involving commercial, environmental, medicines and accident compensation – related offending.
Resolving disputes through mediation.
