Profile Nick joined Meredith Connell in 2000 and is a senior litigator in both the criminal and civil jurisdictions.
Nick’s practice is focused on insolvency, company and tax law and has acted for a number of Crown related and private clients, particularly liquidators. He has conducted numerous proceedings involving the Insolvency Act, the Companies Act, the Receiverships Act, the Inland Revenue Acts and judicial review proceedings. He has appeared as lead counsel in a number of tribunals, the District and High Courts and the Court of Appeal.
In the criminal jurisdiction, Nick’s particular expertise is in prosecuting fraud and regulatory offending. He also regularly prosecutes jury trials for serious criminal offending under the Crimes Act.
Prior to joining Meredith Connell, Nick was a solicitor at a major commercial law firm in Auckland. In 2002 and 2003, he was in London where he worked in the litigation team at Lloyd’s.
