Pravina was employed by a large commercial law firm for some years in both their Wellington and Auckland civil litigation departments where she worked for (and appeared in the High and District Courts on behalf of) a wide range of private and public sector clients; including the media, insurance companies/claimants, large and small businesses, insolvency practitioners and a number of central and local government agencies.
During this time Pravina was also a volunteer at a local community law centre where she advised on a variety of criminal, civil, immigration and family law issues.
Pravina then worked for a few years for the New Zealand Police as a Police Prosecutor and a Relieving Legal Adviser. In that time she appeared regularly in all summary District Court lists, conducted numerous depositions and defended hearings as well as preparing for and appearing on numerous pre-trial matters and applications, providing training on Prosecutorial requirements to Police Officers and providing general criminal and civil legal advice on Police files and internal Police matters.
Pravina is currently working in a broad range of litigation including medico-legal actions, judicial review, complex civil and regulatory matters, criminal prosecutions and large-scale proceedings.
