In 2001 the British Government appointed him Public Prosecutor for Pitcairn Island.  In this role he was responsible for the oversight of the investigation and prosecution of 12 men for historic sexual offending.  The trials led to convictions which were ultimately affirmed by the Privy Council in October 2006.

In 2007 he was briefed by the Tongan Government to prosecute the murder trials arising out of the riots in Nukualofa in November of that year.

In 2008 he was appointed General Counsel to the Eden Park Redevelopment Board in anticipation of the Rugby World Cup 2011.

In October of the same year he was called to the Inner Bar and appointed Senior Counsel or SC.
