James prosecutes on behalf of the Crown, the Police and numerous regulatory agencies, in both the District and High Courts.

James began his career in a large commercial litigation practice in 2005, and was admitted to the Bar in the same year. Since joining Meredith Connell in 2007, James has specialised in prosecutions for the Commerce Commission, with particular expertise in the Fair Trading Act and Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act areas.  Recent cases where James has appeared as counsel include:

In addition, James has also prosecuted on behalf of the Accident Compensation Corporation and Maritime New Zealand, and has advised private clients on civil disputes.  He also regularly prosecutes indictable criminal matters in both the District and High Courts, including jury trials.
