Nick Whittington

Nick is an Associate in the firm's Regulatory and General Litigation practice group.

He acts predominantly for a range of private and departmental clients across a broad spectrum of areas of commercial and civil law including property, contract and lease disputes, restitution, tort and insolvency.

Nick is also a criminal jury trial prosecutor and has acted for the New Zealand Police, Department of Corrections and Department of Immigration defending public law and tort actions.  He has appeared in the Court of Appeal, High Court, District Court and before the Parole Board.

Nick studied at Victoria University of Wellington (winning the Commercial Law Prize), Université Lyon III and the University of Cambridge.  Before joining Meredith Connell, Nick was a Judge's Clerk in the Court of Appeal and worked at the Law Commission.  He was the winner in 2007 of the Cleary Memorial Prize and in 2010 spent six weeks in England on a Pegasus Scholarship.
