Karen is an Associate in the firm's Commerce Compliance group.

Qualified in three jurisdictions, Karen has experience in a range of dispute resolution forums and has gained a unique perspective on financial sector regulation both in New Zealand and abroad.

Karen joined Meredith Connell in November 2010, with over 7 years' commercial litigation experience in top tier law firms in New Zealand, Australia and New York. Karen holds a post-graduate degree from the University of Auckland in accounting and finance, and has particular expertise in securities litigation. She has acted for several global financial institutions and the New York Stock Exchange.

Since joining Meredith Connell, Karen has acted on both civil and criminal proceedings, including prosecuting high profile cases of the Serious Fraud Office and Financial Markets Authority arising from the collapse of the finance company sector. Cases with which she has recently been involved include Capital+Merchant Finance and Belgrave Finance.

Karen is also an intermediate Crown prosecutor and has conducted several District Court jury trials involving serious criminal offending.
