Chris is a Partner in the firm's corporate law and commercial real estate group. He has more than 30 years' experience, extending across a range of industry sectors, including resource management, local government and public law. He has regularly advised on policy aspects of property law issues which have national significance and has overseen the drafting and review of various pieces of proposed legislation on behalf of clients.

Acting for overseas and institutional investors acquiring property in New Zealand – undertaking due diligence investigations together with ongoing management and administration of those assets.

Acting for network utility providers including Watercare Services Limited, Transpower New Zealand Limited, Northpower Limited and Power New Zealand Limited in acquiring property rights for substantial utility corridors.

Acting for numerous parties (frequently on referral from other solicitors) affected by public works proposals, including advising on acquisition rights and compensation. Conducting negotiations on behalf of the affected parties.
